"If a doctor, lawyer, or dentist had 40 people in his office at one time, all of whom had different needs, and some of whom didn't want to be there and were causing trouble, and the doctor, lawyer, or dentist, without assistance, had to treat them all with professional excellence for nine months, then he might have some conception of the classroom teacher's job."
- Donald D. Quinn
Teaching can be a difficult and challenging profession – but that's what makes the teacher's job especially fascinating and rewarding. In this Professional Practice & Inquiry (PPI) Portfolio, I articulate the beliefs that have under-girded my training as a beginning English teacher, and share the ideas that have emerged in the process. This portfolio provides a platform not just to document specific learning points gleaned in NIE, but also to chart my overall learning path in my teaching career as I embark on my journey as a reflective practitioner.
How this portfolio is organised
On the left navigation panes in the main workspace, you can access my reflections about various aspects of the teaching & learning process at NIE and Practicum. You can also access artifacts of learning evidence (photos, videos, lesson plans, documents etc.). At the top navigation panes are the main Focused Conversation showcase pages. As you browse through the showcase, please feel free to send me any feedback that you have about insights that you may have. Happy browsing!
