Course Objectives:
The main objectives for this course are:
To understand the principles of operation of AC and DC motors.
To identify common motor control components and their symbols
To understand the different speed control methods of DC and AC motors.
To understand the different starting and braking methods of DC and AC motors.
To understand different basic control, forward-reverse control, and sequencing circuits.
To demonstrate the ability to protect electric motors and prevent motor failures.
To apply safety rules, procedures, and guidelines while working on motorized systems.
Grading Policy:
Quizes: 25% (closed book and closed notes)
Mid Term Exam: 25% (closed book and closed notes)
Lab Projects: 15%
Homewroks: 10%
Final Exam: 25% (closed book and closed notes)
Letter Grade Distribution:
90-100: A 80-89: B 70-79: C 60-69: D Less than 60: F
