SELECTED COMMENTS:

    • "Ms. thompson was one of the best math teachers that I have had throughout my entire life. She always has many examples of different problems ready for the class. She is good at answering questions for students who don't seem to understand. Overall outstanding professor."

    • "She was very enthusiastic about what she was trying to convey which I personally believe to be one of the most important things in getting other students interested in the content alongside knowledge of the material."

    • "I was very impressed with how quickly our assignments were graded and returned to us. We always received them the very next day. I was also impressed with how the tests were structured. They amply covered all topics that we discussed in class."

    • "I think Ms. Thompson was a really good teacher. She explained things clearly, and was patient when we had questions or did not understand a concept she was teaching us. She gave us hand outs which i found very helpful in explaining how to do a certain problem. She also, graded our tests and quizzes really fast which was nice because I liked to see what I got on them. I wish she used ELC though because I hate having to guess what my overall grade is in a class. Ms. Thompson is one of my favorite teachers here I have had so far at UGA, she was always energetic and excited to teach, even when the room was full of a bunch of sleepy, unresponsive, college kids."

    • "General: Kate deserves a lot of credit; she teaches an 8:00 am. She manages to squeeze ever second out of our 50 minute class, however tired we are. That being said, she has done a very good job. Praise: This instructor is effective in communicating material. Not only does she use class time effeciently, but her methods are helpful. She usually spends time introducing new material and working through several examples step-by-step on the board. She isn't afraid to work difficult or tricky problems out for us. (Usually, teachers just do the easy ones and then slam you on the test). She is enthusiastic about math, which is nice. Regarding tests, they aren't too bad. Kate is a pretty fair grader; she gives partial credit and often grades things by steps (meaning, if you miss part a on a problem, she won't kill your grade on parts b,c, and d). The area she perhaps most deserves credit is in her willingness to help students in off hours. She ALWAYS answers emails quickly and has three days a week of office hours. She also helps you with homework problems. Criticism: There isn't really much at all anyone could criticize about Kate. The only thing I could say is that she blasts through material and problems sometimes when everyone seems to be tired or zoned out. Also, she is a very fast writer. I struggle copying the board and listening to her at the same time, but then again, that could just be math in general. Summary: Kate is a great teacher. She is really helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic which are all essential in teaching. She is sometimes fast, but all in all, I could take her again."
