It was a cold sunny day so we decided to go for a short walk this afternoon - we were only walking for about an hour and a half. We parked at the lay-by on the A10 just south of Brandon Creek (on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border) and walked back to the Ship Inn at Brandon Creek, where the Little Ouse River joins the River Great Ouse.

We walked out along the south (Cambridgeshire) bank of the Little Ouse River to the hamlet of Little Ouse then - having discovered a bridge in Little Ouse, even if we couldn't see the Church - we walked back along the north (Norfolk) bank.

There was a surprising amount of activity - we were passed by a couple of boats and several of the many moored boats seemed to be occupied. There were some interestingly shaped houseboats. We had excellent views of the Wissington Sugar Factory. There were a couple of swans on the river at Little Ouse and a field of swans visible to the west of Brandon Creek.

The light was wonderful and I managed some good photographs with the sun low in the sky.
