Analysis of Standard

Having the required skills, disposition and content knowledge is required to be a successful educator. I am knowledgeable of the TEKS, ELPS and current knowledge, however as an educator I will never stop learning. It’s important to stay on track with current knowledge because children enjoy current music, technology and events.

As I was growing up education was a bit different. We did not sit in groups and teachers used textbook work most of the time. From that experience I learned that is not the best way to retain knowledge. Looking back I cannot remember the textbook questions I answered. However, I do remember the group projects we would do twice a year like the science fair and art contest. Now that's education at its best. Implementing instruction the students can connect to and be active in their education.Which is the key for promoting higher order thinking skills. Nonetheless, being up to date with current students interest that are aligned with national, state and district standards is necessary.
