• started directing films as a student at Tama Art University
• later joined Pyramid Film Co. Ltd. and directed some television commercials between her short film projects (for Benesse, et al.)
• made her feature film directorial debut with Wool 100% (2006). Wool 100% had won the Sundance/NHK International Filmmakers Award at the Sundance Festival in 2003.
