Production Design Responsibilities
As a Lead Designer I enabled cross discipline feature teams to create mechanics and experiences in the magical world of Everwild. Splitting my time between high- and low-level design whilst also directly prototyping in Unreal Engine 5.
I owned and refined areas of the vision. Evangelising across the team to enable efficient and passionate work within defined boundaries.
I focused and owned tactile gameplay mechanics and experiences that touched all areas of development
Owned player senses that created a world players could smell, taste and touch
Drove player movement that enabled beautiful expression across the world
Defined elemental magic casting and creature/world reactions to magical effects
Guided shared inventory, collaborative crafting, sensory cooking and emotional world reactions
The outcome of this work and specifically the prototypes that were created was an experience that empowered players to interact with and care for a living, breathing world full of enchanting creatures and magical flora. Players could build genuine, emotionally led friendships with the magical animals and see their actions affect the world around them.
