Update on the submitted abstracts
Post date: Aug 4, 2014 1:57:33 PM
When we started thinking about organizing the Italian Soft Days we anticipated that a large number of colleagues could have been interest in a similar initiative. However we could not have predicted the huge response that we received (>100 subscriptions).
In total, 80 abstracts for oral contributions were submitted, a number that largely exceeds the maximum number of talks that can be arranged in our two days meeting. For this reason, we have contacted a number of external referees who will help us with the abstract selection. The referees are: Pietro Cicuta (Cambridge) , Matt Glaser (Boulder), Lucio Isa (Zurich) , Peter Schurtenberger (Lund) , Veronique Trappe (Fribourg) .
While all abstracts have already been accepted, roughly half of them will be presented as posters. The results of the selection will be communicated at the end of August and the programme of the workshop will be published on our website the first week of September.
We plan to start the meeting in the late morning of 17/09 (at 11 am) and to conclude it on the 18/09 at 6pm.
The posters will stay up for the two days of the meeting and on both days there will be ample time devoted to poster sessions.
On September 17, there will be a social dinner at the restaurant "La Limonaia" in Villa Torlonia. Participants willing to join us will be kindly asked to pay for the dinner (30/35 euros) upon registration to the workshop.
If you, at any time, decide to cancel from the meeting or from the dinner, please notify us, as this will help us with the organization.
Looking forward to seeing you in Rome,
with best wishes
Stefano, Roberto and Emanuela
