Veronica Rosalia Perugini (ca 1797 - 1873) was born in Gubbio in the Papal States. She taught Italian in London, from about 1833. On 26 January 1837 she advertised in the Morning Chronicle and the Morning Post that she would 'recommence her course of lessons in the Italian language'. Her residence was at 50 Castle Street East, Regent Street, and that is the address where she was living on the 1841 census. On 10 March 1847 she advertised in the Morning Post that she was giving Italian lessons twice a week 'for the relief of the poor Scotch and Irish' at her residence at 27 Green Street, Grosvenor Square.
On the 1851 census she was still living at the same address and she had an Italian visitor, Maria Buchini, a 26-year-old governess.
On 3 November 1855 she announced her arrival in Norwich for the winter in the Norfolk Chronicle. The terms for her lessons could be obtained at Oury and Co's Library in London Street. She returned in late July 1856, which she advertised in the Norfolk Chronicle on 26 July.
On 28 Aug 1856 Veronica Rosalia Perugini became a British citizen. Her referees were:

An advertisement in the Norfolk Chronicle on 2 June 1860 shows that Signora Perugini gave lessons at M. Hipperson's, who moved her Berlin wool repository to 4 Lower Goat Lane. One more advertisement has been found on 13 October 1860 in the Norfolk Chronicle, in which Signora Perugini informed 'the Nobility and Gentry of the County' that her address was 4 Albion Terrace, Mount Pleasant, Norwich, and that her room in town was at 4 Lower Goat Lane.
On the 1861 and 1871 census she was living at Mount Pleasant, a Professor of Languages, and unmarried. In 1871 Maria Perugini, her 18-year-old Italian niece, was living with her.
From the death announcement of Luigi Perugini in the Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer of 30 May 1868 we learn that she was the aunt of Luigi Perugini, who died on 22 April at Grosseto, Tuscany.
Veronica Rosalia Perugini died on 24 October 1873 at Eaton. Her will was proved at Norwich by Henry Gaselee of 11 New Square, Lincoln's Inn, Middlesex, Esquire, Barrister-at-Law and one of the Executors. A death announcement appeared in The Standard on 3 November and in the Cambridge Independent Press on 8 November.
