My interest in Italian immigrants in Norfolk started in February 2010 with Pellegrino Mazzotti, a plaster figure maker who lived in Norwich from ca 1820 to ca 1840 and who exhibited with the Norwich School of Artists. https://sites.google.com/site/pellegrinomazzotti/
When I was researching Mazzotti I noticed another Italian plaster figure maker in Norwich, Giovanni Bianchi, and came across Giuseppe Cassera Moretti, a jeweller in King's Lynn. Lucio Sponza's book 'Italian Immigrants in Ninteenth-Century Britain: Realities and Images' inspired me to investigate further. I have enjoyed every minute of it.
Several organisations and individuals have contributed to my research into Italian immigrants in Norfolk. I am grateful for everybody's help!
