MATTIOLI Michael Anthony

Michael Anthony Mattioli (c. 1771 - 1859) married Mary Waters (c. 1766 - 1854) on 26 October 1795 at St Mary, Redgrave cum Botesdale, Suffolk.(1) They lived in Roydon by Diss in Norfolk and had five children: Michael (1797 - 1860), Mary (1800 - ?), Mark (1803 - 1882), Maria (1804 - ?) and Matilda (1807 - ?).(2)

Michael's name appeared on the register of electors for the election of the members of Parliament for the eastern division of the county of Norfolk in November 1840 - 1841. His address was Snow Street, Roydon.(3)

He was also mentioned in the 1846 Post Office Directory as the parish clerk.(4) On the 1851 census he and Mary lived next to The Hall. Michael was parish clerk.(5)

On 3 May 1856 Michael Mattioli resigned as the parish clerk after 49 years of service.(6) He died in November 1859 and was buried in Roydon on 9 November.(7) Mary had died in March 1854. (8)
