Directions to the aid stations (from the start)

Race Start (Damascus Town Park) (Race distance- mile 0)

Straight Branch (Race distance- mile ~5)

Damascus Town Park to Straight Branch (~ 4.5 miles, ~10 minutes driving time)

1. North past Red Caboose 

2. Right on Laurel St. (Hw 58 E) (1.5 miles)

3. Follow Hw 58 E through Damascus (several sharp curves are made)

4. Follow Hw 58 E out of town 

5. Take a left to remain on Hw 58 E toward Independence (3.0 miles) 

6. Right into parking area for Straight Branch (look for wooden VA Creeper sign)

FS 90 (Race distance- mile ~9 or 43)

Damascus Town Park to FS 90 (~8.6 miles, ~30 minutes driving time)

1. North past Red Caboose 

2. Right on Laurel St. (Hw 58 E) (1.5 miles)

3. Follow Hw 58 E through Damascus (several sharp curves are made)

4. Follow Hw 58 E out of town 

5. Take a left to remain on Hw 58 E toward Independence (5.8 miles)

6. Left on FS 90 (This is a very rough gravel road, follow 1.3 miles) 

7. Aid station at top of mountain 

 Skulls Gap (N) (Race distance- mile ~16 or 37)

Damascus Town Park to Skulls Gap (N) (~16.2 miles, ~55 minutes driving time)

1. North past Red Caboose

2. Right on Laurel St. (Hw 58 E) (1.5 miles)

3. Follow Hw 58 E through Damascus (several sharp curves are made)

4. Follow Hw 58 E out of town

5. Take a left to remain on Hw 58 E toward Independence (9.5 miles). 

[For this  next section, you will stay on the same road, but it changes names several times]

6. Straight onto 603 (follow for 2.8 miles) 

7. Past Konnarock stay left following the sign for Bike Route 76. After about 100 yards this becomes 600 (follow for 2.4 miles) 

8. Aid station is on your left at intersection with FS 84 

Hurricane Gap (Race distance- mile ~22 & 32) 

Damascus Town Park to Hurricane Gap (~20.8 miles, ~90 minutes driving time)

1. North past Red Caboose

2. Right on Laurel St. (Hw 58 E) (1.5 miles)

3. Follow Hw 58 E through Damascus (several sharp curves are made)

4. Follow Hw 58 E out of town

5. Take a left to remain on Hw 58 E toward Independence (9.5 miles). 

[For this  next section, you will stay on the same road, but it changes names several times]

6. Straight onto 603 (follow for 2.8 miles) 

7. Past Konnarock stay left following the sign for Bike Route 76. After about 100 yards this becomes 600 (follow for 2.4 miles) 

8. Right (east) on FS 84 (this is a very rough gravel road – follow 4.6 miles) 

9. Look carefully for a hiking sign on right that indicates a trail crossing (or other parked cars). 

10. Park and walk North down the dirt road past gate about 400 meters 

Rowland Creek (Race distance- mile ~29)

Note- Runner's crew are NOT allowed at this aid station

1. Head to Skulls Gap (using the directions above).  From SG:

2. Head towards I-81

3. Right on 604 (Ramble Wood Road) (follow for ~0.5 miles)

4. Left on 800 (St Clair's Creek Road) (follow for ~0.2 miles)

5. Right on 604 (Dry Fork Road).  This becomes Belle Hollow Road

6. At the stop sign, turn right to stay on 604 (now Red Stone Road) (follow for ~ 5.2 miles)

7. Right on 650 (South Fork Road) (follow for ~1.2 miles)

8. At the stop sign, turn right on 656 (Stoney Battery Road) (foloow for ~1.8 miles)

9. Right on 668 (Rowland Creek Road.  Follow signs to Rowland Falls, ~0.7 miles to aid station.

Going back 

0.7 miles back to 656 left or straight

At 1.8 miles left onto 650

At stop sign left on 604 (Red Stone Rd)

At 2.0 miles left onto 604 (Belle Hollow Rd)

At 3.0 miles left onto Rte 800  (St Clair's Creek Rd)

0.3 miles right on 604

To return, left on 600 back to Skulls Gap. 

Race Finish (Damascus Town Park)  (Race distance- mile 50, 40, ~30, or ~16)
