Aid Stations

Aid station mileages are approximate- Total distance (& distance from last aid station). Numbers have been rounded in the Mileages column and Garmin numbers have been averaged over several runs.

Fluids: Aid stations should have water, sports drink, and some soda (the Straight Branch AS will only have water and sports drink)

Food: Aid stations having food will probably have- meat/cheese sandwiches, PB&J sandwiches, boiled potatoes, fruit (grapes &/or bananas), candy (M&Ms, Reese's Pieces, etc), & chips.

Misc: Most aid stations should have hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels, petroleum jelly, and band aids. These may not be displayed, but you can ask a volunteer for them. The race will NOT supply pain medication/NSAIDS (or any medications) at the aid stations.

The faster you are, the greater the variety the aid station may have.

Different Distances (16 miles, 30 miles, 40 miles, 50 miles)

The chart above lists the aid stations for the 50 milers.

40 milers- You turn around at Hurricane Gap so you will not use the Rowland Creek Aid Station (but you do use all the others).

30 milers- You turn around at Skulls Gap so you will not use Hurricane Gap or Rowland Aid Stations (so you will use Straight Branch, FS 90, Skulls Gap, & FS 90).

16 milers- You turn around at FS 90 so you only use Straight Branch and FS 90 Aid Stations.
