I have begun experimenting with gel mediums; first painting (acrylic), then drawing, and adding a thick layer of gel, repeating the layers 2 - 3 times. I am not gluing as many objects to the surface. I have used both gloss gel - which dries clear and shiny and matt gel -which dries more translucent giving the affect of encaustic (an oil paint/wax method).
The inspiration for the drawing is mostly botanical, but very whimsical too---always with an emphasis on the SACREDNESS of all LIFE.
