Changes this year: a new Boston Terrier named Piper came into my life. She is 4 years old and a great companion! Lively and snuggly.
I retired in September and have been taking time to revel in just being home. I was so pleased to be able to enjoy the daylight and sunshine on my patio in October and into early November!
Reading: Barbara Brown Taylor and Barry Lopez. He stretches my vocabulary, she stretches my soul. Both expand my head and heart.
Taylor quotes James Fowler: "On what is your heart set?" and "What is the hope that gives meaning to your life?"
Lopez offers a young writer the following advice (with my additions): 1. Read whatever interests you. 2. Become someone -(live life, discover and listen to your inner voice.) 3. Get away from the familiar -(travel, spend time with folks outside your circle, explore the world. Be open).
All of this is churning inside me as I paint. And the final thought: "Have a clear view of the desired end." But first you need to know what that "end" is!! Through it all, I will continue to paint because it's what I MUST DO.
