For those who want to know here is my process:
Glue down paper to the back side and around the edges of a canvass, let it dry.
2. Put stencil shapes on the piece using modeling paste.
3. After the stencils dry, I add a coat of gesso, let it dry.
4. Begin adding shapes. Once I like the design, I glue the shapes down.
5. Gesso everything twice.
6. Paint!
One of the reasons I use “reverse canvasses” is because I don’t have to frame them. You may know, framing pieces can be very pricey. With that said, I do occasionally also glue pieces onto canvass board and/or gater board, which I do then frame.
Cats, dogs, butterflies, birds, bugs, flowers, moon faces are just some of the identifiable objects I like using. I hope you enjoy these art works.

At this point in the year, I began to explore sage greens, muted greens. Some times they come across as gray. Just proving that all color is relative. You can put it next to one color and it looks one way, and then against another it looks totally different.

This is the start of adding women figures into the paintings again. Only this time I am cutting them out of sheet foam, adding texture via stenciling with molding paste.

This final piece began with 2 colors: Midnite blue and Grayish Blue. I wanted it to be variations of those and subtle. For me it evokes a winter-time feeling. I most likely will continue this color combination into 2025.
