Boy Scout Troop 30 Helps with Dock Restoration

May 28, 2016 - A group of Scouts and adult leaders from Boy Scout Troop 30 gathered on a warm sunny Saturday morning to accomplish some much needed repairs on the Dock at Lake Tilley. The Scouts disassembled the deteriorated portions of the dock, repaired the support structure as required, and replaced the decking. The process took roughly six hours to complete and the boys were all exhausted. But not too exhausted to enjoy kayaking and cooling off in the lake and a quick picnic after the project. The Board of Directors suggested, approved, and funded the repair project. The Boy Scouts volunteered to help with the labor. At times, the Scouts use the lake for Kayak practice so they were happy to help with the repairs.
