Summary and Photos

The International Gastrointestinal Electrophysiology Society (iGES) took place in the evening on Sat 2nd June 2018 at Washington DC, USA. The meeting provides an opportunity for state-of-art work and future direction in the field to be discussed by leading researchers in the field. A number of topics covering basic physiology, clinical translations, and device designs were presented by both seasoned researchers and up-and-coming students. It was exciting to see a number of new faces as well as old friends presenting their research and envisionment of the future.

The talks were followed by a series of highly interactive Q & A between the audience and the speakers. It was pointed out at the closing address that we should ‘spread the word’ about the importance of our work and attract future researchers to ensure a sustained advancement of knowledge in this field.
