Haifa Fornightly(Editor--Huzefa Mehta) 7th edition 1/2/93 First for the spicy news! Kapshi is getting married to a dentist.. Update on my driving status...After the accident I spent a lot of time running around to police stations, court..my license has been revoked(for 3 months..and 450 shekels fine!). So now Reena has the burden of driving me around. Am thinking of applying for another Calif license..how will the Israel authorities know? Went to Mt. Hermon finally to ski. Has about couple of slopes with good runs. However nothing compared to the Lake Tahoe area. The interesting part about Mt. Hermon is that it is on the corner of Syria, Lebanon and Israel. After the peace talks proceed Israel is scheduled to give back Hermon resort to Syria. It was an excellent day..Lots of powder snow(It was snowstormed the whole week) Expensive also(costs 75 shekels for rentals 75 shekels for lifts and 13 shekels for entry! and this is per person!). The ski lifts had long lines..the wait was almost half an hour for each lift. So the idea was to stay at the slopes as long as possible and come down slowly!) The diamond slopes were quite "piddlu" compared to the Tahoe area black slopes. Reena just took lessons and played around the beginner lift areas. Went to a holocaust museum yesterday near Akko. It is very huge and has sections on each nation during the Nazi Germany period.(Poland, Greece..etc) Hopefully our trip to Egypt will work out in the next two weeks. ciao
