Haifa Fornightly(Editor--Huzefa Mehta) 21th edition 1/9/93 I assumed it would be hectic at work after getting back from India but things looked pretty much the same. Many people were still on vacation. Anyways happy diwali to you all. And happy marriage wishes to Bhatia. The first weekend progressed well ..Doug and myself went to El Al a hiking park in the golan. Not a long trek about 45 mins or so but took us to a waterfall and an attached rope for rappeling down. The water was cold, compared to the temp. we had about a month or two back in Israel. Saw some crabs and fishes in the small pond below the fall. The second weekend was a washout. Ballu balraj finally arrived. Went with Balraj to the standard "patel" places(akko, rosh hanikra,nazareth..) galilee, Jerusalem who insisted on taking 3-d photos with his contraption. Was almost in midst of a riot at the border of the jewish and arab quarter in the old city. Tough bargainer mr. ballu after buying hordes of jerusalem chappals and turkish coffee. Reena returned after diwali just after balraj left.. Missed the Haifa Triathlon(didnt register) so I am training for the Eliat Triathlon next weekend. This weekend we leave for Eliat(Dahab) a bedioun village about 100 km south of Taba or Eliat. Prime attractions are to dive in the Blue hole a 75 m hole in the Red Sea. Hope the peace talks between Jordan and Israel open up borders at Jericho and Petra and Amman become accesible by a days drive.
