Short Fiction

I have been writing short (some of them Christian) stories for a long time. This section will be expanded with other material from my back catalogue when I have time, which is why it presently contains a mixed small bag!

Away, in a Manger is a light but thoughtful reading for Christmas season services. Being Followed was the result of an odd real incident when my wife and I lost each other in a strange bookshop in Stratford-on-Avon. Hidden Rapture could be, for Christians, the ultimate Fake News story. Lesser Spotting is an eccentric view of rare bird twitching. Lie on the Beach is another reflection on fake truth. Mary had, for Christmas is a cynical 'flash fiction' that is definitely not religious. Middle of the Night, written as part of a course, was an attempt to express the frustrations of an author! Not a Cousin is about why Mary and Joseph would have been met with actual hostility in Bethlehem. The Adder suggests how Darwinism and the Garden of Eden might co-exist. Watching Paint Dry is a warning to all burglars. And Buried by Hadrian is a history-based account of how the Tomb of Christ, deliberately buried under Hadrian's pagan temple, was rediscovered by soldiers of the Emperor Constantine in 326 AD.
