My zero-carbon birdwatching year 2020
Please enjoy the five episodes of my 'fuel-free' Green Birding Year in 2020. Using boots and (mainly) bike - and travelling up to 10 miles only from my inland Cheshire home - I had great fun as I managed to (and was thrilled to) record 135 bird species 'fuel-free' during the year.
Click here for all my collected episodes: (1) - My Green birding list; (2) - Jetstream trials; (3) - Hard lockdown; (4) Not run a marathon?; (5) A dusky ending. (All published in Bird News by CAWOS, the Cheshire and Wirral Ornithological Society).
Also you might enjoy this older cycle commuting wildlife account:
Seen while cycling to work near Chelford - what we miss in cars.
And this record of the wildlife I observed during my green commuting years:
A eulogy to the denizens of Chelford Railway Station - published in the past to wild popular acclaim on that paragon of localist culture and interest, the Chelford Village Website.
My Outlook
In general outlook, I support the Creation Care philosophy of A Rocha, the international Christian conservation charity, for which I support a local group of Friends of A Rocha, and the carbon-offsetting work of its associate Climate Stewards.
