4 Dot & 4 Blue Line Drills

1. 4 Dot - Inside open up

Alternate between 1/3 and 2/4 by whistles

1. On whistle, P2 and P4 lines go at same time.

2. P2 passes to P1 and players make 2 or 3 passes as P2 skates towards P1. P1 opens up on the inside and catches pass from P1.

2. P2 carries puck into zone wide with speed and shoots in stride from top of circle.

3. P2 stops at net and screens goalie for next shooter before returning to a line.

2. 4 Dot - Inside open up 2-0

Only one side shown. Alternate between 1/3 and 2/4 by whistles

1. On whistle, P2 and P4 lines go at same time.

2. P2 passes to P1 and players make 2 or 3 passes as P2 skates towards P1. P1 opens up on the inside and catches pass from P1.

3. The 2nd P2 skates to blue line on outside and opens up before pivoting back to forward and heading up ice.

2. P2 with puck moves puck to outside player who enters zone with puck. The player who made the pass supports by entering wide then breaks to the net for a pass and/or rebound.

3. P2 stops at net and screens goalie for next shooter before returning to a line.

3. 4 - Dot - Shuttle pass with Escape to 2-0

Alternate between 1/3 and 2/4 by whistles

1. On whistle, P2 and P4 lines go at same time.

2. P2 passes to P1 and skates at full speed around outside as shown.

3. P1 after taking pass, performs an escape move around line and makes pass up to P2

4. P2 enters zone wide and P1 supports by entering zone wide then driving the net for a pass or rebound.

4. 4-Dot - Inside Pass, Cross Ice Pass to Outside Swing

PI and P3 leave together (only one side shown)

1. PI leaves with puck and follows along half of centre circle before passing to P4.

2 PI continues to blue line then opens up and receives return pass from P4.

3. PI fires hard pass across ice to P2

4. PI then skates around outside and receives a return pass from P2

5. PI enters zone wide with speed and shoots before hash marks. PI stops at net looking for rebound and waits for tip or rebound from next shooter coming in before returning to a line.
