A few things i wanna clarify before you read further
1. This is absolutely true
2. This is not a way to Surf the net (atleast not yet, more on that later). but you can access a webpage without proxy
3. Its good just because its a way that exists. It's good because its an alternate way to do something
All right so here we go.
Following is the background you will need
We surf net using http or https services ( these are on the application layer)
There are a ton of other services, SMTP, IMAP, RSS which are also on application layer
SMTP IMAP use ports different than HTTP
IIT provides free access to outside world using SMTP and IMAP
Now what has been done by me till now is the following
Configure Mail.app to work with imap.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com (figure 1,2) ( on windows use microsoft outlook )
Read up http://www.searchlores.org/nb_se001.html. (वैसे तो पूरी साइट ही पङ लो कम से कम फ्राविया के बारे मे पङ लो)
Basically the main mailing list is listserv@listserv.aol.com which is like a news group which has all the auestions and faqs about accmail
mail to this newsgroup this command SUBSCRIBE ACCMAIL <Firstname Lastname>
use some of the free servers that are available to download some pages
I used www@dommel.be , send an email to this address with this subject "send pdf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohandas_Karamchand_Gandhi" without quotes. it would send you a pdf. (figure 3)
Try http://www.web2mail.com/lite/welcome.php to get an idea of how to get webpages on email.
I tried to fill in forms, there is a specific syntax to use get/post in html pages with this method, but i got tired of that and just got this in the end for facebook ( figure 4)
That's it done :)
P.S. - It seems that now its at least possible to work on social networking sites via mail. Outlook now provides a plugin called social connector which provides an aggregated feed of your Facebook, Linkedin profiles on your mail client. Also yahoo provides a similar option so if you configure your client to use a yahoo mail id then i think Facebook browsing without proxy should be possible,
