For those who don't know I had basically branded "us" as bigots who bicker A LOT.
I Got my first feedback about my rant against us and I think it favours me but is also trying to correct me in ways
Here's the Feedback :-
"Read a bit about "implicit" and explicit" culture also, impact of overcrowding on mice colonies...how they become both more aggressive and depressed at the same time
Also, peek a bit into "evolutionary psychology" to get some idea of how we have come to be who we are today...and of course, since you are looking at human psyche, its important to consider "Plato's Cave theory"
Deal is...
1. the world needs changing
2. its people like you and I who can make that difference
3. Culture / history has a lot to do with it
4. How do we break out of it????
also, be always aware of "who you are being" in a any given situation, system...when you criticizing others, you are being a critic? or self-righteous? or, plain naive?
when you are "doubting" others...who are you being???
remember, what you see is WHO you are :) Took me a long time to realize that the villain in my life was none other than the person I know the least...ME! "
So I read and i tried to make sense of this new info. Here's All the info for future reference:
Explicit culture reflects what the organization says it is about, and what can be seen in the policies, procedures, mission/vision/values statements of the organization, as well as in daily interactions with others.
Implicit culture reflects more subtle inferences that employees draw from their experience in the organization. Some of the unwritten, implicit norms, values, etc. may be entirely consistent with the explicit ones. Others may not be captured in any explicit statements (“They don’t tell you this, but here’s how you should handle this kind of conflict here...”). Still others may be at variance with the explicit culture (“They say they are for safety first, but the reality is, production is king....”).
What was written by the productivity expert is that when you identify such a discord between the Explicit and implicit culture then you job should be Follow Up. Without any obvious and visible follow-up to specify just what the problem is, and then to fix it such an Effort is Fruitless. I think My Attempt at maintaining this Site is just that. An effort to follwo up to make a repository of Info That i can refer to As I grow Up.
So the point is That the
1. the world needs changing
2. its people like you and I who can make that difference
3. I think that i can Do it
Plato's Cave theory : It made me realize that what you are think you have come to know is not necessarily new knowledge. Intelligent people have come before you and will come after you. But anyway the Theory is simple. He imagines people chained in a cave forced to watch shadows. They will beleive shadows to be the reality. When a man who has come to realize their true nature would tell them this they would Call him a Liar. That's the main point that people will call the man who knows truth a liar
The Mice Experiments: They gave me no solution. My first thought is " So what ? How does that matter ? I am better than a Rat and those who are not better than Rats need to be educated". It does make me feel that i should treat those who are not better than this behaviour as animals and I need to be stern with them but that's all
Do people think this conclusion is right ? is it wrong ? tell me I am listening
