The Problem:
Corruption is the problem. I wouldn't say more about it.
Crux :
I propose that intense jealousy, bigotry, hypocrisy and corruption are all interlinked. And Education would not be a complete solution. A conscious effort/ A movement to make people less meddling and more rational/straight-forward can bring results.
Elaborate argument:
We are bigots. probably more than any other nation. We are driven by greed but claim to be driven by god. Money is our goal but it's a taboo to say that it is.
WE cannot be what we want to be because saying what you are and what you want is wrong
(anti social).
My own father says to me दुनियादारी सीख ideals are pointless. Its convenient to think that every thing will be achieved in the other world by praying to god, you just need to pray to god for a few minutes and you are allowed to be greedy motherfuckers rest of the time. I fucking hate this bigotry , this duplicity, this not knowing what is right and what is wrong.
Some simplistic examples
Is bribery wrong ? Is apathy wrong ? Is drinking wrong ?
The Standard replies are
bribery is wrong but must be done to live - a contradiction in life
apathy is wrong but you cant help everyone - another one
drinking is wrong but important on occasions - another one
The number of double standards that we deal with every day is just staggering, no wonder we never get any work done. Some people say that truth is transient, there are shades of gray in Black and white. In india we take this to the extreme level. The amount of diversity which we flaunt to tourists is just one face of it. Racism, casteism, bigotry, duplicity are the other forms of it. saying one thing and meaning something else - that's duplicity, it's the same as bigotry, which is related to racism and which is similar to casteism
I will give a hypothesis now of the root cause of corruption in our country
nobody does what he/she wants to do, they are all thinking about the family and the pressures and what society will say and what relatives will say.
1. so what happens is that you are constantly maintaining a facade which after some point becomes so natural that you stop caring about right and wrong everything is decided whether others will think something is right or wrong so if others dont see something wrong happening it's not wrong.
2. You are never doing stuff that makes you happy and basically start hating your boring life, you are not satisfied with what you have achieved in life and your job is boring anyway so the only way to get something out of life is through corruption. You like to debate but you dont do that so you might as well make extra money through corruption to make you happy
So basically it's our suffocating society which likes to meddle which is causing its own destruction . so if everyone just minds his/her own business and doesnt go about criticizing other's way of life and just works for one's own satisfaction then we would be a lot more successful.
