Mastery Mondays

To improve our repertoire we use Mastering Mondays as a time to fine tune our current pieces and run through concert repertoire.  This time is set aside to give students the opportunity to play through each piece and then find the sections that needed assistance.  This allows practice pointers to be given and a structured set of exercises to work on the follow day, Technique Tuesdays.

Technique Tuesdays

On Technique Tuesdays students will work in small groups to master a technique we are focusing on, sometimes in tandem with a section of repertoire we are studying.   Students will be observed in small groups and assisted to better understand the material while be assessed for their level of skill.

Working Wednesdays

Wednesdays are reserved for group practice with an emphasis on putting the small group practice work accomplished on Technique Tuesdays together to see how strong the weaker sections have become. We focus on working on our repertoire practice for upcoming concerts and events. 

Theory Thursday

We will study music theory on "Theory Thursdays" throughout the school year.  Worksheets will be completed on the iPads as we go through each lesson in class.  At the conclusion of each Theory Thursday class time students submit their completed worksheet.

Free-Form Fridays

Free-Form Fridays are reserved for individual, small group and large group practice.  Free-Form Fridays allow the flexibility to finishing up work that needs additional attention before the conclusion of the school week.
