"I Can Read Music" Book Volume 1 (violin, viola, cello, bass) is designed for students that have a very strong ear for music and pick up tunes very quickly. These books breakdown the 'pitch' from the 'rhythm.' They start out designed to work on one string at a time - with no real melody to hear.

I would start out with just 5 minutes a day. Just one or two pages. Whatever happens, happens! You did it! You worked on reading -- great job.
