I began collecting art in earnest around 1991 when my sister and I started attending art festivals around the Indianapolis area. The Penrod Arts Fair, Broad Ripple Arts Fair and Talbot Street Arts Fair are only a few of the amazing art events bringing artists and the public together in the Indy area.
Upon retiring to Lake Havasu City my husband, Lance Gibbs, became an artist. I joined the Havasu Art Guild with him, to be supportive. I photograph and profile his art on his website and manage his art business. I started entering my own art, weaving, in the 2019 Guild Art at the Lake.
In 2022 I was one of 3 people responsible for the creation of the Havasu Art Trail. It is an annual 2 day artist and studio tour supported with a website and social media presence. We gained 501(c)3 status in 2022. Like the Havasu Art Guild, we are dedicated to promoting the artists of Lake Havasu City.
In 2023 I was asked to join the board of directors of the Havasu Art Guild. I attempt to use some of my art, business and non-profit knowledge to better the lives of the artists of Lake Havasu.
In my spare time, I enjoy creating fiber art, primarily weaving.
