Creativity has influenced many aspects of my life from the early years to the present. Defining who I am today.
I knew early on that art would be my main focus. During high school I took as many different art class as I could to determine what I was most passionate about. After high school, I attended Harrington Institute of Interior Design in Chicago where I received my associate degree.
My love for helping others create beautiful spaces led me to wanting to create beautiful pieces from jewelry to art for one’s home.
I am a fluid/mixed media artist. I work primarily with acrylics on canvas, incorporating modeling paste and different fibers along with multiple layers of paint to achieve depth in my work. My inspiration comes from nature with a focus on movement and free forms. My art is a celebration of color, fluidity, texture and the relationship between the different mediums and how they interact while gliding across the canvas. My goal as an artist is to create a sense of wonder, allowing the viewer to see things in different and unique ways.
I’m mindful about the excess paint used during my process and either reuse it as a base coat on another piece or let it dry and use what is referred to as “acrylic skin” to add to jewelry bezels to create unique one of a kind earrings, necklaces and rings.
You can correctly find my work at the Q Gallery in Lake Havasu City. I hope you enjoy my collection as much as I do.
I have shown pieces at Las Lagunas Art Gallery and am published in Contemporary Metal Clay Rings by Hattie Sanderson.
