My artistic medium involves utilizing fabric-wrapped cording to create distinctive baskets. I employ materials such as beads, colored cording, ribbons, and recycled items to craft these unique pieces.
A primary focus of my art is functional art that exhibits an aesthetic quality, making it suitable for display as artwork.
My grandmother, an interior decorator, my mother, a seamstress, and my sister, a master quilter, serve as my inspiration. I have always been fond of using material, even making my own clothes.
By chance, I learned how to create baskets while a friend was teaching the skill. I experimented with various embellishments and ideas to enhance and decorate my baskets.
I have earned several blue, red, and white ribbons at the Havasu Art Guild Fine Arts show and the Mohave Fair, among others.
My functional art is available in various sizes and can serve as both functional baskets and decorative pieces.
