Having worked in the printing and publishing area for nearly 30 years, I have kept my hand in many different artistic and design mediums. Print design for ads and flyers was my first endeavor. Then came a try at painting, and glass work—I was best at making plant stakes. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic stay-at-home orders of March 2020, I found resin!
This is an art medium with infinite possibilities; each work is part your design and part the resin’s design! The resin is colored, poured using various techniques and depending on the color medium, mica, acrylics, or inks, moves to the beat of its own drum until it becomes too solid to move. It could be a couple of hours before you really know what you have made and a good 12-24 hours for the absolute final de-molding result. It is an adventure every time and that is why I love it!
