When I started Veterinary Medicine, I became a member of the dogs and cats club, so I could get a side job to inspect dogs and cats at a dog and cat show in Veemarkthallen in Utrecht. By inspecting the animals zoonosis, fights when dogs or cats are in season and fleas spreading can be prevented.

More than a thousand men and women bring their precious dogs and cats to compete internationally at these dogs and cats shows. It is a beauty to see how they treat their dogs and cats. Some are even shinning their dogs and cats with shoe polish and chalk to win the beauty contest. Others competing in the dog sports with one goal to have the best dog or cat to breed youngsters and the price money. With this said most of them love their animal and are happy with them even when they are not allowed in.
