My first internship for my study Business Economics was with the Police of the region Amsterdam-Amstelland. During this internship I was allowed to follow a few workshops. One of them was about Enneagram types. I did the test in the workshop and later on I talked to my internship supervisor and the communication department about the outcome. It’s a pity I don't remember which types I was back then, but I remember another workshop on the same day about GIS with which the police was back than following 'zakkenrollers'. I also got tips how not to be a victim, but I must confess a year later I was a victim of a 'zakkenroller' at Utrecht Central going to my final internship to finish the study Business Economics.
I did a half year internship at the police region Amsterdam-Amstelland. I had to interview all the district heads about capacity management and propose a capacity management calculation. It was fun walking to all the districts in Amsterdam and being greeted friendly. Also I remember how friendly the districts heads were to take the time to answer my questions for the capacity management report I had to make. The end result was a capacity management report that could be used internally and a report about my internship.
It was fun to have a look at such an organization from a Business Economic perspective as a Business Economic student. I wasn't aware before this internship that I could do other things than being an accountant, controller, or a financial manager. This is why I later on took a broader prospective in looking for a master’s degree after Business Economics. (UPDATE: Sept 2024: student debt €0 euro).
