Saturday, January 13th Renewable Energy

Post date: Dec 18, 2017 12:51:11 AM

Join physics education enthusiasts Saturday January 13th for a morning of learning, discussion, exploration and sharing around how to best incorporate renewable energy topics into our existing physics curriculum. Focusing primarily on wind and solar, we will explore how can we tie data, examples, videos, simulations, demos, labs etc, into what we do in energy and systems, light, and electrical circuits, and explore how we can connect students to the rapid changes in energy production and use happening around us right now. We will hear from Ned Mohan and Abhijit Kshirsagar from the Electrical Engineering

Department at the University of Minnesota about what they have collected in a CIS renewable energy course available to high school students, take time to explore a wide variety resources collected on a shared google page, and have some time to explore lab/demo data collection using wind generators and solar cells. Please bring what you might already be doing in class to share with the group as well. Looking forward to learning together!"
