January 10, 2015 - Thermo!

Post date: Jan 6, 2015 7:30:36 PM

Our January meeting will focus on Thermodynamics. Jack Netland will demonstrate the effect of atmospheric pressure on a large drum. Tom Tomashek will lead a make-take-and-do for the construction of a Hero’s Engine. Pressure and ideal gas laws will be investigated, and possibly an air conditioner dissection. Data will be collected and analyzed of a thermodynamic cycle and shared with the group through Logger Pro’s data sharing feature.

The group will look at ways for students to work with thermodynamic topics in a way that will improve their understanding and help them perform well on the AP Physics 2 exam.

Stop in for some good times with colleagues. Bring a friend and anything you have to share with the group. There is no cost to attend GO4ST8 Physics meetings; you do not have to RSVP.

The basic premise of GO4ST8 Physics is for teachers to help teachers improve the teaching and learning of physics in Minnesota.
