13:45 LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER - Speaker 1 (40 min.) - MATT SCHLEGEL -
PART 1 - Title: Beyond Personality Dynamics, The Enneagram of Problem Solving
There is a natural order to problem solving—a sequence of steps taken from problem identification to problem resolution. Ever wonder why the Enneagram types are numbers? This talk answers that question. As presented in his new book Teamwork 9.0, Matt shows how the Enneagram serves as a framework for team problem solving.
Speaker's Bio: Matt Schlegel, evolutionaryteams.comAs a systems thinker, Matt Schlegel has always been fascinated by team dynamics and what makes some teams successful while others fail. His degrees in general engineering from Harvey Mudd College and electrical engineering from the University of California San Diego provided formal training in problem solving, especially in solving technical and engineering problems. As he worked on bigger projects, Matt realized that successful problem solving was contingent more on effective teamwork than technical prowess. He began studying the Enneagram in 2002 and started applying it in corporate settings in 2003. In 2004, he began developing the tools that Schlegel Consulting (www.evolutionaryteams.com) now uses to optimize team-based problem solving for innovative companies. His realization that the Enneagram can be applied to the analysis of teams as well as individuals led to the tools and strategies for work-team effectiveness described in his book Teamwork 9.0.

13:45 LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER - Speaker 1 (40 min.) - Developing Your Unique Value Proposition
Description: To get consulting gigs, you need people to understand the value you offer, and why that value is higher than other options they might consider. You don't get much time to make them understand -- attention spans are short, and the noise level is high -- so you need to get your value across quickly. The best way to do that is to have a Unique Value Proposition, one that's so simple, clear, and compelling that anyone immediately understands what you do and why it matters.
We'll discuss factors that make an effective Unique Value Proposition, review some examples, and work on developing some new ones.
Bio: Jim Schibler has excelled in product management and marketing for over 20 years. He brought multiple generations of innovative laboratory software to market, and managed SD Forum's Marketing SIG for four years. He is currently seeking a product management leadership role at a software/internet company that involves delivering a great user experience; in the meantime, he is using his strategy, marketing, and coaching skills to help other professionals make the next step forward in their careers.

13:40 LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER - Speaker 1 (40 min.) - My Agile Retrospective
Summary: Having been involved in the Agile world for many years, Moshe had his share of bad and good experiences. He has learned from both.
In this discussion, Moshe will do his own retrospective and list some things he learned - the “start doing”, “stop doing” and “continue doing”. This will be an open discussion in which the participants will be invited to share their own experiences and provide the best strategies for making Agile really work.
Moshe’s Bio: Moshe Gotesman, PhD, CSM, SAFe, LeSS, PMP, ITIL has an extensive project management background. He has worked in engineering management, process development and as a Director of project management. TITLE: Elevator Pitches for Consultants
Entrepreneurs know all about "elevator pitches" - many consultants don't have one.
When someone asks "what do you do?", or "how can you help us?", consultants need an elevator pitch in response. Short, to the point, compelling.
OVERVIEW:
Introduction about why it matters, especially from C-level perspective. (Rule of 3s)
Demonstrate 3 different versions of 1 elevator speech, using 3 different models. (startups, consultants)
What - WHO - WHY - DIFFERENTIATOR!! . . . people asking "HOW??!!"
Pain - Painkiller
S. O/P. A. R. - Situation - Opportunity/Problem - Action - Results
Get audience feedback on which were most effective.
PARTNERS - Breakouts with each person's elevator speech, and identify the model they are using.
Each person self-rates their own pitch.
Listener rates
Get back together - sharing a few & wrap
Continue to experiment and iterate your elevator speech throughout the rest of the day!

15:40 LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER - Speaker 1 (40 min.) - Takana Shimabukuro & Tom Okada - "Combining Recycle with Entertainment" Annually, several tons of clothings are wasted, which leads to more trash on this planet. To solve this serious issue, we have to expand our perspective of “recycling”. As things are changed throughout the time, we can now purchase used items through the websites/apps such as Ebay or Craigslist. Nowadays, our daily life is strongly interconnected with environmental issues. I would like to expand this notion of recycling in the U.S. so that it will become a “norm” for people to use second-handed items in their daily life. To achieve such a goal, attracting interest and cooperation of people are essential factors. That is why I would like to put entertainment elements in this project, so that more people have opportunities to get involved in the act of recycling. We have great recycling methods in Japan. Only thing missing to protect this beautiful planet for next generations is cooperation.

14:40 LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER - Speaker 2 (40 min.) - Military Generals, Mindfulness, and Emotional Intelligence
For many years, business schools have looked toward the military and its long leadership legacy to understand successful leadership methods. Senior level officers have always needed to be adept at managing shifting trends.
In fact, a current military leadership program promises to foster agile and adaptive officers who can think critically and creatively. How have our military leaders leveraged these non-tangible attributes? This session takes a practical look
at successful, and not so successful, U.S. military general behaviors from WWII to the present. The discussion centers around four key leadership attributes as take-away lessons and how they can be used by managers today to lead their teams to success. Susan G. Schwartz, PMP

14:40 LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER - Speaker 2 (40 min.) - Stewart Levine - Developing High Performance Collaborations - CONFIRMED
Productivity and collaboration are a function of effective explicit agreements! All productivity and all satisfying professional and personal relationships result from collaborative action. We collaborate with others in language by forming agreements. These agreements are express (spoken or written) or implied (assumed.) We often have conflict because we did not take the time, and we never learned how, to craft effective, explicit agreements. This is a skill we were never taught, even though it is fundamental and a foundational life skill.
A major cause of wasteful, expensive conflicts are implicit, inartful, incomplete agreements that do not express a joint vision, and do not solidify a covenantal relationship in the process of crafting the agreement. This often happens because the process of negotiating an agreement is seen as an adversarial process you try to win, as compared to a joint visioning process that expresses an inclusive vision of desired outcomes, and the road map to those desired results. You can learn how to craft elegant agreements. They can be used with yourself as goal setting tools. They can be used to foster covenental partnerships with spouses, children, partners, colleagues, bosses, support staff, suppliers, clients and collaborators of all kinds. The key is articulating joint vision, how you will produce desired outcomes, standards to evaluate your results, and who you need to reach your objectives. Using agreements are a simple way of planning and implementation that generates a high level of buy in because it is empowering, inclusive and highly participatory. You can also learn how to think about conflict differently, how to normalize its presence, and how to quickly move through it using an elegant “Resolutionary” Model.

"Why is collaboration, critical to successful Digital Transformation?"
Collaboration is like pornography, very few can clearly define it, but most know it when they see it. Digital Transformation (DX) is the change associated with the application of digital technology to all aspects of human society. For this presentation we will focus on DX in business organizations.
This presentation will focus on the many factors that make up DX, and why having a "collaborative mindset" is critical for success. You will leave with a good idea where to start DX in your organization, what pain it will alleviate, and an idea of where to start, and how to scope your first DX project.

The presentation would focus of the evolution of visual hacking platforms ranging from the Business Model Canvas to the Supply Chain Canvas. These aforementioned tools reflect the paradigm of Consilience or Unity of Knowledge, that is, a single problem-solving platform can be used to rapidly discover and solve problems in many domains. At the moment, students (in the 'Hacking for X' program) from Stanford University and other top American universities are using a Business Model Canvas-platform to discover and solve tough problems from organizations including the Department of Defense, State Department, and Energy. However, the problem solving process using the Business Model Canvas can be made exponentially faster, better, and cheaper using enhanced tools that are featured in my new book, “Business Model Canvas: A New Tool with Bad Instructions?”

Learning from Each Other
Kevin Kreitman
When answering "I want” people focus on solutions instead of the result we are looking for.
Solutions are what you think will get you what you want while really results is what you want.
To get to the result ask questions like:
What would be different in a good way?
What would you get that you don’t have now?
Both measurable and experiential
Why “Benefits” sell only marginally better than “Features” is because you’re counting on the client caring about the “benefits”.
Your offer needs to resonate with how they see the problem they face and connect with their desired experience.

More about Mike Agron's workshop:
"How Thought Leadership Webinars Move Customers Through the Sales Cycle" Based on Actual Case Studies
Webinars are a top B2B marketing tactic and an invaluable tool for educating prospects to move them down the funnel. But it’s a myth to think all webinar attendees are “sales ready” to buy now.
Wherever they are on their journey, your thought leadership and expertise can educate and inspire them to want to have a conversation with you “after the webinar”, which is when the real selling should begin. The catch? You’ve got to do a webinar right in order for it to be effective – from targeting and attracting the right audience, to keeping them engaged and continuing the conversation after the webinar.
Using actual case study examples of emerging and global brands, Mike Agron, will highlight why they were effective, and discuss how your webinar deliverables should be aligned to match the buyers journey.
You’ll learn:
· How webinar attendees moved through the sales cycle
· Strategies to ensure predictable outcomes
· Critical KPI’s to track before, during and after the webinar
· How you as a thought leader can leverage webinars to grow your business
Bonus eBook: All attendees will receive a link to download a complimentary copy of “WebinarReady™- A Step-by-Step Guide to Hosting Successful Webinars” authored by Mike Agron and co-sponsored by Citrix – GoToWebinar.
Bio: Mike Agron, is a webinar demand generation expert, thought leader, speaker, author and co-founder and executive webinar producer for WebAttract.
WebAttract is a professional services and training organization that helps B2B sales and marketing professionals associated with global and emerging brands, as well as media publishers, excel at using webinars across the entire life cycle and he and his team are passionate about helping their clients meet and exceed their commercial outcomes, while delighting their audiences.
He is a sought after speaker for both virtual and in-person events and has been featured speaking at the Content Marketing World, Direct Marketing Association, InsideSales Virtual Summit, Niche Digital Conference, and others, etc.
His approach is to look at each webinar as a mini event, and uncover something unique that will delight his webinar audiences with an engaging experience while ensuring that the webinar sponsor meets or exceeds their commercial goals.

What to appeal to EVERY potential customer? Then you will appeal to NONE of them!
Most businesses try to serve TOO MANY types of customers with TOO BROAD of a solution. By selecting a clear customer target and focusing your efforts on delivering one or two points of value, you are much more likely to succeed. Deliver compelling and unique value that sets you apart from competitors! In this 2 hour workshop, your will create a strategic positioning for your business, and then apply this concept to your business strategy. By the end of the workshop, you will be well on your way to strategically positioning your business to win more customers and increase revenue and profitability!"
