Panhellenic Scholarship Application is due February 9th
Know a senior or graduate student interested in an educational scholarship for 2012-2013 academic year? Please pass this information on for applications which are due on February 9, 2013:

The Alumnae Panhellenic Association of Greater Kansas City is offering
educational scholarships to female college seniors and graduate students
who are sorority members and residents of the greater Kansas City area,
attending Kansas or Missouri schools. The Kansas City area is defined as
Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri, and Johnson,
Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas. Applicants must
be a college senior or graduate student at the beginning of the next academic
year with at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average. Scholarships are
limited to Greek sorority members. Past recipients are not eligible to
apply. All sorority women meeting these criteria will be considered.
To be considered for a scholarship, a completed application form, all required
supporting materials, and a letter of reference must be mailed to the
Scholarship Committee, postmarked by February 09, 2013.
The Committee will review all completed applications. Selected applicants
will be notified and interviewed in Kansas City on March 9th 2013. If you can
not come for a personal interview we will attempt to make other
arrangements.
Please post the enclosed notice on your scholarship board so that
qualified applicants will have ample time to assemble the necessary
materials. The application may be downloaded off the website at

December 2012 Meeting Recap
Four things you need to know:
Kathy Palermo's beautifully decorated home was once again the setting for our annual Christmas Brunch. Seventeen current members and one former member, now living in Connecticut, attended.
Several members are planning a visit to member Darlene Reynolds who is in a care facility in Overland Park.
In February and March members are asked to bring travel-sized toiletries as well as hygiene products and toothbrushes/paste for the Hope Faith Ministries for the homeless.
Four members reported attending the Kappa Kappa Gamma Holiday Homes Tour and enjoying a meal together afterward.

Last April our chapter donated 14 items to the Panhellenic silent auction, raising $501. for scholarships. This year Kathy Palermo is in charge of the auction and is asking members to donate gift certificates.

October 2012 Meeting Recap
1. By all attending, which included 15 members of our group, Founder's Day was an enjoyable event.
2. Mark your calendars: April 27 is the Panhellenic Woman of the Year Brunch and Silent Auction.
3. Don't forget to bring hats and mittens (mostly for younger boys) to either the November or December meeting.
4. Members attending the October meeting took trips down memory lane looking at photos, scrapbooks, and items from collegiate days and prior alumnae chapter meetings.

September 2012 Meeting Recap

4. Dr. Cynthia Jacobson, Speech and Hearing Clinic Director, Children's Mercy Hospital, has retired.
5. Alumnae held their meeting at and toured Charlie's Showcase Safety House, a safety-proofed house built by James Engle and designated a Safety House by James and Cindy. Katie Schatte is a founder of Charlie's House and provided background information and a video on the importance of home safety.
