Apple Cider Syrup - Shared by Lee Waits
1 C. sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 T lemon juiice
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 c. fresh apple cider or apple juice
Mix all ingredients except margarine or butter, and cook stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in margarine.
Store in refrigerator. You may want to serve them with Martha Stewart's Best Pancakes (recipe on line). If served on French toast, you may want to place a baked red apple slice on top of each slice of French toast before pouring syrup.
