I have started this page to hold the Maddren Family information as I find it. There is a sister site listed on the homepage that holds all the Maddren photographs. I will add more information as I find it, I have updated this page unfortunately in a rush on May 22nd 2013 shortly before I go on holiday.
Madron was a Village just outside Penzance, it is now part of Penzance. This is shown on the map of the Penzance and lands end part of Cornwall attached to this page.
WiIliam Thomas Maddren was born there and he is shown in the 1851 census with his parents William and Grace Maddren. I can also find him in the 1871 census with his wife Jane and daughter Elizabeth aged 1, this must be shortly before Elizabeths death, his subsequent re-marriage and emigration to New Zealand. William T is more difficult to find in the 1861 census, he is probably the entry for William A Madden at Penzance. I am unable to find his parents William and Grace in the 1841 census?
In the 1851 census they are shown as entry 72 in Madron, this means family 72 and does not refer to a street number. In 1871 they are shown as entry 94 for Penzance.
Good information about the maddren family is held in the photos of the gravestones shown on Renny Snells Gravestone site, the Snell family are related to the Maddrens through the family William T Maddrens wife, Agnes Steer Snell. The address of this website is below:
