William CARTER was born circa 1549 in Kempston, Bedfordshire, England. He married Mary ANSCELL, daughter of Thomas ANSCELL Esq. and Elizabeth WHEATLEY, in 1574 in Barford, Bedfordshire, England. He wrote a will on 24 JAN 1603/04. He died on 1 SEP 1605 in England (A brass plate, dated 12-1-1605. was placed in front of the pews on the right side of Kempston Church in England. Still there in 2005). His estate was probated on 9 JAN 1605/06.

"Here lieth the body of William Carter, Gent: who tooke to wife Marie the daughter of Tho: Aunsell, Esq: by whom he had issue seaven sones and ten daughters, he died the first day of September, 1605, she survivnge in memoriall of her affection to him living caused this monument to be made over him".
