Genealogy Sunshine Coast is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9.00am til 4.30pm.
Our general meetings are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month, they are free and open to members and visitors.
They are a great opportunity to meet other members and discuss your research.
We share a cuppa and chat from 9.30am and then at 10am have a brief meeting to keep everyone updated with committee decisions. This is followed by morning tea.
Most months have a theme or show and tell topic, where individual members tell family-related stories or anecdotes, in a relaxed, friendly environment - there's no pressure to participate. We also have occasional guest speakers.
You are welcome to stay afterwards to continue your research. Our centre is open until 4.30pm. Why not browse the library while you're here - you never know what you might find!

'The Speaking Phonograph or Talking Machine'
The invention of Thomas A. Edison of Menlo Park N.J. (1877) "It makes the human voice, enunciating and pronouncing every word perfectly. It is purely mechanical in its actions and very simple, considered the miracle of the 19th centuary! It talks, laughs, sings, coughs, whistles and produces the sounds of animals, and it plays coronet solos." the Cincinnati Daily Gazette, June 4 1878
You have laid your bricks - you are not a convict, but its still hard work.
You've come inside and you desperately need a shower, so here is the soap, the shampoo and the moisturiser.
Ah - its nice to be clean, but you sure have worked up a sweat and a thirst, so have a beer, a juice and some cheese and crackers.
Relaxation!
You're so tired - bricklaying is hard work, so it;s an early night.
Ready for bed, you settle down with a nice cup of Camomile tea in your new mug, and then, it's into bed to catch up on a bit of history with the Tracers magazine
ENJOY! tickets only $2
