in the Library - some examples of tasks: cataloguing new resources; labelling/ covering/ repairing; promoting new resources; providing library signage to assist users; helping visitors and members to find what they are looking for; helping users to access information, via computer, CD, and microfilm; Making the current catalogue available on the web-site; keeping track of loans; shelving returned resources; keeping shelves in order for easy access; acquiring resources to match current and expected needs; Maintaining resources in good condition; assessing older resources for currency and appropriateness; stocktaking; composing a library report each month; writing articles for 'Kin Tracer' with a book description and scan of cover; creating displays to raise awareness of the collection; adding to newspaper cuttings and ephemeral items; scanning photographs; scanning local publications and journals; indexing local works to add to research collection.
