Media Center Orientation

This lesson is for all ninth grade students at RHS. They attend Media Center Orientation during the first few weeks of school

After today's lesson, students will be able to articulate:

- the services and policies of the media center
- how to find a book in the media center
- what online resources are available through the media center Web site

After today's lesson, the teacher and media specialists will have an assessment of students' information literacy skills regarding:

- how to develop a research topic
- identifying potential sources
- revising research strategies
- evaluating sources
- using information ethically and responsibly

These skills will be the focus of future lessons during the ninth grade research unit.
