Issue Statuses are used against your Project Issues. They are used to show your progress in the resolution of an Issue. The list shown on this screen is provided by default, it is created the first time you use this screen or raise an Issue.
There is no limit to the number of Issue Statuses you may create but note that if you create too many, many of the input screens and reports will become awkward to use.
Fields Shown:-
Sort Order: A number representing the order in which you want the status displayed. This has no meaning to the system other than to determine the order of the statuses. Optional - statuses will display in alphabetic order if left blank.
Description: Text describing your status. This is shown on screen and in many reports. Required.
Is closed: Used to show that the status indicates that the Issue is Open or Closed. For example, you may need to distinguish between Issues that have been corrected and closed and those that have been closed with no action. Optional - checked or not.
! You cannot delete a Status once it has been used on an Issue. However, if you find you will no longer be using a Status, you can give it a very high Sort Order and add 'do not use' to its description.
