Charge Rates are used to provide costings for your Projects that use Requirements. Each Requirement may be charged at a different rate. For example, your Project Management tasks will be charged at a different rate to your testing tasks.
You can ignore this screen if you only use 'Requests for Order' on your Projects.
There is no limit to the number of Charge Rates you may create but note that if you create too many, many of the input screens and reports will become awkward to use.
Fields Shown:-
Sort Order: A number representing the order in which you want the charge rates displayed. This has no meaning to the system other than to determine the order of the rates. Optional - charge rates will display in alphabetic order if left blank.
Description: Text describing your charge rate. This is shown on screen and in many reports. Required.
Charge Rate: The (hourly) Rate to be used against Requirements when calculating the cost of that requirement and its parent Project. Optional - must be $0.00 or higher
! You cannot delete a Charge Rate once it has been used on a Requirement. However, if you find you will no longer be using a Charge Rate, you can give it a very high Sort Order and add 'do not use' to its description.
