The Gallery

William Halls, his wife Susan Tanton, and their children Henry (Harry) and Annie Louise. The picture was taken in the mid 1870's based on the age of the children and the clothing styles. I am not sure where precisely the picture was taken, but I would guess a portrait studio in London, Ontario.

The fourth child from the left is Mary Tanton Martin, the fifth child is Eleanor E. Martin. The furthest child on the right is Alice Halls (later Dutton).

This picture is supposed to be Susan Tanton. Personally I am not so sure. The two pictures above both contain images of Susan that are positively identified, and to me, this does not look like Susan Tanton. Perhaps it is simply that this is a picture of a very young Susan Tanton.

This is James Halls and Family taken in the late 1800's. James Halls is seated on the far right. Mary Ann Andrew would be the woman seated and wearing glasses I am fairly certain that the man with the moustache is Philip Thomas Halls, and that the clean shaven young man is Frank Ernest Halls. The woman seated on the far left is Ellen Elizabeth Halls. The other women would be Mary Jane, Charlotte, and Lillian Halls, but I don't know who is who. Click on the image for a bigger version.
