Camp Rodney is an incredible summer camp 2 hours away in Maryland. This camp is BIG. You must bring a bicycle with you to get around. We will be eating all meals in the dining hall at this camp. The quality of the food is really good, just ask your Senior Patrol Leader.
The first year scout Brownsea program is rated #1 by Scouting Magazine. The goal for new scouts entering the Brownsea program is to have fun at camp while learning skills to become first class, become a strong swimmer and earn two merit badges.
Scouts that would like to earn merit badges will be amazed at the variety of badges available. Camp Rodney offers over 70 badges and programs for scouts. From the traditional summer camp merit badges plus additional activities like Monster Biking, Night Climbing, Iron Man, Sailing Regatta, Boardsailing, Water Skiing, Motorboating, Geocaching, Golf and Energy.
Jet Skis are available for scouts 16 years and older that complete Maryland or New jersey Safe Boating On-line Class. For older scouts staying on site there is a high adventure option at no additional charge. Half the day is spent living on the edge doing high adventures with the other half of the day open to camp activities.
For the ultimate high adventure sign up for the Camp Rodney Sailing trip. Scouts will live aboard a large sailboat and sail to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and back with an included visit to the National Aquarium. All scouts will drive down with the troop on Sunday to camp. On Monday afternoon scouts will set sail from Camp Rodney and return on Friday. The entire troop will return together to Freehold on Saturday.
See you all at Summer Camp
