For the past nine months, and continuing, Walter has been a volunteer at CentraState Medical Center working in patient transport.
Over the years, Walter has served his Troop as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Librarian, and Scribe. He completed Patrol Leadership Skills training at Quail Hill Scout Reservation and attended summer camp programs at both Forestburg and Ten Mile River, in addition to participating in an urban hike and various other camping and hiking outings with his Troop.
For his Eagle Project, Walter designed and constructed a Shaker style teacher’s desk for use at the Georgia Road Schoolhouse in Freehold Township. He also constructed and installed four bat boxes, as well as led an interior and exterior cleanup at the schoolhouse site. This project was completed for the benefit of the Freehold Township Historical Preservation Commission. Walter is thankful to his fellow scouts, leaders, family and friends for their assistance in this project and throughout his scouting.
Having completed the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout, Walter plans to continue his involvement with Troop 18 toward earning Eagle palms.
