Directions:
Secure the word assigned to you for this project from Mr. Carlton.
Think about, research and decide on an image that artistically depicts your assigned word.
Look for "portrait" images via Google images (select Large images) or other free sites.
Collect 1-3 qualifying large images, at least 1000 pixels wide and tall, and save them to your desktop and/or Google Drive.
Open Photoshop, select File, then New document, naming the new document ArtAlpha_LastNamePer#
Type 8.5 wide x 11 inches tall, 300 dpi, CMYK
Notice the background layer, this is now your canvas which you will place your image and type.
Then...
Click on File - open and select the image you have chosen for the background of your project
Unlock the layer of your imported image
Now click, hold and drag the image to the tab at the top which displays your name.
Once over the tab, your white canvas will appear, still clicking and holding - drag image to the canvas and release mouse
Now that the image is placed on your canvas...
Hold the command key and type the "T' key to select your image.
Now hold the "shift" key and click, hold and drag a corner of the image to arrange/enlarge the image on your 8.5 x 11 canvas
The background image shall be an image that augments (supports) the theme.
With the image layer selected, click on the "Image" pull down menu, then select "Adjustments".
In the "Adjustment" section, select the various options to enhance your chosen image.
Many of the options have sliding bar that allows you to increase or decrease the level of the effect.
NOTE!
With the "move tool" selected, click the "Auto Select" box and choose "Layer". This will allow you to click, hold and drag each layer independently.
Select the Type tool and start placing CAPITAL letters A-Z on the canvas. - One letter per layer! Helpful hint: Start with the letter "Z", then "Y"...
Place each letter of the alphabet on a separate layer .
Each letter shall be different from the others with the exception of the word (theme) by making the font style different
Choose the pull down menu "Layer" and select "Layer Style" - this will give you many options
The letters shall remain in alphabetical order, though they can be arranged in various ways, as shown in the projects below. Remember, in the USA, we read left to right, therefore so shall your letters be arranged from left to right.
The artwork must be creative - each layer...at least 27 of them will be manipulated and fine tuned by your manipulation of the software
Display your name and period on the artwork, usually in the lower right or left corner in 12pt. Arial font. The font color shall standout and easily seen.
Be sure to label your email Artistic Alphabet Period#

Guidelines:
Use layers of text, images and photographs
If the colors and brightness of your animals don’t match, use curves, levels, or Hue/Saturation to get the images closer.
Use the color blending mode on your color layers most of the time. If a color doesn’t look right even after hue and saturation adjustments, try some of the other modes.
Evaluation: 100 Pts.
Does the art produced reflect artwork from the student or “stolen” images from the internet?

Create a another set using numbers.
